Getting Ready

Don't forget about the restorative yoga tonight @ 4:30 - we all can meet at the gym around 4:15 or just go to studio 2 in the Lighthouse Point building (where the yoga classes are held). You all will love this!

Please bring $10 or we can put it on your account.

Also, Packet pick up is on Saturday at the State Fairgrounds between 10-5. or on race day (which I DO NOT recommend). I will be going so if you need me to pick up your packet I can.

You all are more than welcome to ride with Steve and I on Sunday morning, we will be leaving around 5am.

Drink lots of water today and tomorrow and get rest!!!
You all are well prepared for this run!

May 18 - Tuesday is Hill Day!!

Good Morning Runners!

We will be running outside today in the rain!
We are meeting at the gym at 6pm today and running to Patterson Park and then the Hills.

You all have done sooooo well during this training season. I feel very confident you will run your best on Sunday! I cannot believe the time is here!

Here are some tips before race day:


Eat your breakfast, which should be carbohydrates, 1 1/2 hours before the race.

Start slowly for the first 1-2 miles and then keep tempo so that you will run the second half faster than the first half.

Pre-wash your shirts! They should be nice an soft before wearing them for 13.1 miles!

Leaving the gym turn right, go to Canton Park up stairs to Boston Street, across to S. Ellwood Ave. go to Baltimore Street turn left, follow to Washington, turn left on Washington to Eastern, turn right on Eastern follow to the Inner harbor, follow the Inner Harbor around to the Harbour View Tower cross over to Key Highway follow to E. Fort Ave. turn right on Fort Ave. follow to Light Street, follow Light all the way back to the Inner Harbour. Follow water to Legg Mason straight ahead on Aliceanne Street, Follow Alliceanne to Wolf, turn left on Wolf, follow to Baltimore, turn Right on Baltimore, follow to S. Elwood, right on South Elwood follow all the way back to the water and gym.

Hills at the beginning and Hills at the end - we need to prepare!

MAY 8TH - SATURDAY'S RUN

Hello fellow runners!
You all did very well yesterday on the hills! We actually ran 5.59 miles yesterday - in the heat no less! Thumbs up for Ellen, Rachael, Laura and Kristy for working very hard up those "Lovely" hills.

Our route for Saturday will be an out and back route - 10.23 miles. We will be hitting the hills at the beginning of the run and at the end.

Please make sure you hydrate the day before and in the morning get a little something to eat so you have energy for the run. It looks like it will cool off by then - thank goodness!

We will be leaving the gym turning right down the water to Canton Park up the steps to Boston Street, hop over to S. Elwood, up to Baltimore Street, turn left on Baltimore Street. Follow Baltimore to Washington, left on Washington down to Aliceanne, turn right. Follow Aliceanne all the way to the water fountain by Legg Mason go straight towards the water and follow the promenade all the way around the harbor, go past the Rusty Scupper, follow along the water until you get the Pierside Drive (by the tall condo Tower) and turn around. Follow the same route all the way back through the harbour to Legg Mason and down Aliceanne, turn left up Washington, right on Baltimore, Right on S.Elwood and follow back all the way to the water and gym.

Saturday May 1st - 8.61 mile run

As you all know you will be running with Melissa on Saturday. Please get to the gym on time so you can get a good start for the day!

Our route will pretty much be the same as last week's run - you will be running through the Inner Harbour to the Harbour Tower (very tall condo on the water) .

Leave the gym - turn right down the water, to Canton Park, up steps to Boston Street, cross over to South Elwood, follow to Baltimore Street - turn left, go up our favorite hill. Turn left on Washington (I understand some of you don't like Broadway) follow Washington to Eastern, right on Eastern. Follow thru to the Harbour - follow the harbor all around the water past the Rusty Scupper, to the TALL Condos........turn around and follow the water all the way back home. And yes we will be following the water through Fells!

Ellwoood Street - follow to Baltimore Street - make a left on Baltimore - follow to Broadway - make a left on Broadway to Eastern - make a right on Eastern - follow all the way to the harbour ( cross over presidents street by Pier 6) cross over the bridge and go by ESPN Zone and follow the harbour to the Science Center - touch the Science Center - Turn around and follow the water all the way home.

Following the water towards the city. Leave the gym and turn left following the promenade along the water, until you reach Fells Point along Thames Street, turn left onto Thames Street, follow to S. Caroline Street, to Lancaster, turn left. Follow until you get to the New Legg Mason Building, turn right and then the next right on Aliceanne Street (water fountain) Follow Aliceanne to Wolfe, make left on Wolfe, follow Wolf to Baltimore Street, make a right on Baltimore. Right on Patterson Avenue, left on Eastern, right on Linwood - straight to water, turn right at water to gym.

Patterson Park Hills

Hello Runners!
Nice work on the hills this evening! We really need to push ourselves beyond our comfort zone. The half marathon is nothing but hills and I want you all to be confident you can make it up all of them - knowing how hard you have pushed during training!

Caroline Street, to Lancaster, turn left. Follow until you get to the New Legg Mason Building, go right and then the next right on Aliceanne Street. Follow Aliceanne to Wolf and make a left on Wolf, follow Wolf to Baltimore Street, make a right on Baltimore. Right on Patterson Avenue, left on Eastern, Right on Linwood - straight to water, turn right at water to gym.

Saturday's Run - 5 miles


Hello Runners!


It will be a beautiful day to run tomorrow! We will be running 5 miles - hydrate today and fuel up with a nice lite breakfast tomorrow before the run

We will start at the gym, right out of the gym along the water to the Canton Park (boat ramp) up the stairs to Boston Street, cross Boston on S.Ellwood, follow S. Ellwood all the way up to Baltimore Street, make a left on Baltimore Street (up the wonderful hill) AGAIN.....YOU CAN DO IT! follow Baltimore to Broadway, left on Aliceanne, follow Aliceanne to the Harbour East water fountain (the circle) following along the new Legg Mason building to the water(Lancaster street). Turn right on South Caroline Street (by Living class rooms) turn left onto Thames Street follow Thames all the way to the water, turn left on the promenade and follow the water promenade all the way back to the gym!


We will be leaving @ 8 am.

Pratt (just follow the park) left on Pratt, down the hill to S. Linwood turn right. Make a left onto Baltimore Street, where you will find a fabulous hill!. YOU CAN MAKE IT! Follow Baltimore to Broadway, turn left on Broadway to Aliceanna, turn left on Alicanna. Follow Aliceanne to Boston and jump over to the water and follow the water all the way back to the gym.

Hills are tough

I have to say.....you all worked very hard last night on the treadmill hill training!
That was not easy - but the more hills we do the better we will be at conquering those hills!
